Ty Walker President &CEO
Ty Walker began his career in the food industry after graduating SUNY Old Westbury University with a degree in Liberal Arts, going to work for Parks Sausage Company in 1981.
In 1982 Parks Sausages was listed on the NYSE. This exciting and monumental event was due in part to Ty's efforts as Sales Manager for the New York tri-state market.
This history-making backdrop has been the cornerstone of Ty's can do philosophy and insistence on excellence.
Ty has worked in sales and marketing for Sara Lee, Sysco Foodservices, Canteen Corporation a division of Compass Group and ITC/Pride Enterprises as Executive Director of Sales for its Diversified Supply Management Division.
After years of working for other companies Ty decided to live the American Dream and work for himself. In February of 2002 he started M&S Foods, providing food service to institutional, hospitality and provided care markets.
M&S has caught the attention of Governor Jeb Bush and was the subject of a “Great Floridians” press release. M&S Foods was also awarded The Florida Juvenile Justice Association Vendor of the Year. Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Secretary Bill Bankhead presented the award and commended Ty for his innovative cost saving systems at a time of substantial budget cuts for all state agencies.
Mr. Walker has received awards from the University of Florida for his speaking engagements and efforts encouraging other small businesses.
M&S Foods award winning service has been recognized in many business forums such as CBS News Market Watch. In addition Ty Walker's commentary has appeared in Hispanic Business Magazine.
